It’s safe to say former Bachelorette star Jason Tartick has had a rough week.
The 32-year-old, who is currently engaged to former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe, opened up to fans about getting hit by a car while walking the couple’s dog over the weekend.

Read on to get all the details.
Jason Broke the News on Sunday Night
Jason shared the scary news with fans on Sunday, August 22 following a day of golfing.
“So much for a relaxing night after golf…” he captioned an Instagram video of himself alongside their dog, Pinot.
“ALWAYS BE CAREFUL on crosswalks! Pinot and I are beyond fortunate to walk away from that unscathed 🙏.”
In the video, Jason explained he wanted to tell his story in order to make other’s aware of what could happen if you aren’t paying attention while walking.
“I’ve got to tell this story because if it could impact one person as a takeaway, it’s worth it. This guy (Pinot) and I — well, I did — but this guy almost got cranked by a car last night,” he shared.
Details of the Accident
Alright, so here’s how the accident happened.
Jason and Kaitlyn were out for an evening stroll with their dogs, Pinot and Ramen, when Kaitlyn began to walk ahead of Jason.
Jason got caught at a crosswalk with Pinot and waited for the “walk” sign to flash before crossing. Safety first, right? Well, not so fast.

In fact, when Jason and Pinot began to cross after getting the “walk” sign, a car turned out of nowhere.
According to Jason, the car ran through a red light while making a right-hand turn.
“I don’t know what angel was looking over us, I don’t know, like, who was watching our backs,” he said. “But my initial response was just to rip — and fortunately, I wasn’t texting or on the phone — to rip Pinot back with my left hand.”
Jason Saved Pinot, But Got Hit Himself
While Jason was able to get Pinot out of the way, he did run right into the hood of the minivan. Then, after checking to make sure Pinot was OK, Jason let the driver of the car have it.
In fact, he “slammed the hood” of the car and “had some choice words” with the driver, despite the person being apologetic about the accident.
Hey, who can blame Jason for being a little peeved about getting hit by a car. Perfectly understandable, if you ask me!
Thankfully, Jason was able to walk away from the accident with just a few bumps and bruises.
“My right leg’s bruised and my right, like, butt is sore. But that’s it. [I’m] the luckiest in the world,” he shared.
Still Shook Up
Though he is OK, the reality star’s story is a good reminder to always be vigilant when walking, especially if you’re with your animals. He recommended everyone “keep your head on swivel” while crossing a crosswalk, as you truly never know what may be coming around the corner.

And, while the situation was scary, it was equally as terrifying for Kaitlyn who watched the whole thing go down.
“Still shook from this. So glad you guys are ok I can’t even handle the sound I heard! Everyone be safe out there!” she commented on the video.
