They say that everyone has a doppelgänger, and I guess that even applies to celebrities. But for some stars, their doppelgängers are also in showbiz!

If you feel like you’ve been seeing double, it’s not just you. Some celebs just look so much alike, they could have been separated at birth. While some share the same occupation, like Margot Robbie and Jaime Pressly, others have found success in very different areas, like Will Ferrell and Chad Smith. And Natalie Portman and her lookalike are so similar that it was used as part of a movie plot.

So don’t adjust your screens – these are just Hollywood celebs that look so much alike they could be related.

Natalie Portman and Keira Knightly

You can’t deny that Natalie Portman and Keira Knightly look so similar that they could be twins. Especially when the two of them are rocking the same color hair, it can be hard to tell them apart. If I was in the room with both of them, I don’t know that I’d bet money on identifying them correctly.

Hollywood knows they look similar, and Lucasfilm took advantage! While Portman played Queen Padmé Amidala in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Knightly played Queen Amidala’s handmaiden Sabé who stood in as her double to keep her safe.

Lucy Hale and Selena Gomez

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale could definitely pass as Selena Gomez’s sister. It’s definitely believable when she admitted that she has been mistaken for the “Lose You to Love Me” singer. She has a sense of humor about it.

She sat down with WIRED to answer some of the most searched questions about herself, and “Is Lucy Hale related to Selena Gomez?” was on the list. “I am,” she joked. “We’re actually twins and we don’t like to talk about it a lot in public.”

Will Ferrell and Chad Smith

Funny guy Will Ferrell looks eerily similar to Chad Smith, drummer for the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. Once the internet took notice of their similarities, it became quite the topic – so much, in fact, that Ferrell and Smith themselves took notice.

In 2014, they showed up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon wearing identical outfits and had an epic drum-off to “unmask” the drumming imposter. The battle brought in nearly $500,000 for their respective charities. It also turned into a running joke, with the pair teaming up again to raise money for charities.

Paul Reubens and Alan Cumming

It is hard to imagine that such a unique person as Paul Reubens would have a look-alike, but he does. He and Alan Cumming could tell me they were related, and I would definitely believe it.

Of course, 69-year-old Reubens was born in New York, while 57-year-old Cumming is Scottish. Despite coming from opposite sides of the pond, the resemblance is uncanny.

Mark Hamill and Sebastian Stan

Sebastian Stan is a dead ringer for a young Mark Hamill. In fact, he looks so much like Hamill that Star Wars fans were begging for Stan to play the legendary Jedi in the next season of The Mandalorian. As we all saw in The Book of Boba Fett, Lucasfilm is intent on continuing with de-aging Hamill with visual effects to play his younger self.

Stan knows he looks like Hamill, though.

“Mark Hamill is my father, you know, and he knows that,” Stan joked with Esquire. “And I call him every Christmas to tell him, ‘Just want you to know I’m around!’”

Hamill is in on it, too. He once took to Twitter to address it, saying, “Sorry to disappoint you but I refuse to say ‘Sebastian Stan – I AM YOU FATHER!’ (even though, in fact, I am).” He followed it with #SorryNotSorry and #MySonSebastian.

Mila Kunis and Sarah Hyland

Manhattan-born Sarah Hyland is the spitting image of Ukrainian-American actress Mila Kunis. Clearly, these two aren’t really related, but they could have fooled me! Still waiting on them to star in a movie together, playing sisters.

Anyway, the two apparently get mistaken for each other all the time, but it doesn’t bother them at all. In fact, they talked about getting mistaken for each other the first time they met, in 2010. According to Hyland, Kunis sometimes goes along with it “because it makes her feel young.”

Elizabeth Banks and Chelsea Handler

No, you aren’t seeing double. That is actress Elizabeth Banks on the left and comedian Chelsea Handler on the right – two separate people, who are not related in any way. The two know they look similar, too, because they get mistaken for each other. Banks talked about it during an appearance on Chelsea Lately.

She said she was in Toronto when a guy mistook her for Handler and asked for her autograph. Instead of ruining it for him, she went along with it, saying “I couldn’t ruin it for him!”

Jesse Eisenberg and Michael Cera

While Michael Cera and Jesse Eisenberg look similar, they aren’t related – at least, not to anyone’s knowledge. Cera is Canadian, while Eisenberg is from New York. However, they do apparently get mistaken for each other.

They look similar enough that Cera was once tapped to play Eisenberg’s lookalike in the film Zombieland: Double Tap. Cera apparently turned the role down and was replaced with another actor who looked like Eisenberg.

Rupert Grint and Ed Sheeran

Rupert Grint and Ed Sheeran have both found substantial success in their respective creative fields, but they often get mistaken for each other. I think they look more like brothers than twins, but they do look a lot alike. They don’t mind, though. In fact, they enjoy poking fun at it!

Grint was in Sheeran’s “Lego House” music video, playing an obsessive fan who stalks Sheeran. Seeing Grint lip-syncing the words to Sheeran’s music and dressed in the same clothes really drives home the point, and it’s hilarious.

It doesn’t stop there, though. Rupert Grint once pulled a fast one on MTV’s After Hours, where fans were prepared for an Ed Sheeran performance. Lo and behold, it was Rupert Grint behind that guitar! During the gag, he revealed that “Ed isn’t real” and he’s just Grint’s alternative identity!

Susan Sarandon and Sigourney Weaver

Susan Sarandon and Sigourney Weaver are both respected Hollywood veterans with serious star power. They both apparently get mistaken for each other, too. Sarandon admitted that she may have taken credit for one of Weaver’s most famous roles on a few occasions.

“I want to just clarify a few things,” Sarandon said at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London. “Sigourney may have left the stage, but we are two different people. I have taken credit for Alien many times and she’s signed autographs for me.”

Ryan Seacrest and Joel McHale

We should have seen it coming when Ryan Seacrest was given a hosting deal with E!, where Joel McHale was already hosting The Soup. The entertainment network seems to have a type.

These two have had a running joke for years as they poke fun at each other. They’ve been telling the public that they aren’t the same person for something like fifteen years at this point. McHale even took over Seacrest’s social media once, and McHale’s resemblance to Seacrest was even worked in as a running gag on the TV series Community.

Margot Robbie and Jaime Pressly

I have definitely confused these two actresses before! Margot Robbie and Jaime Pressly really do look like they could have been separated at birth.

The wild thing here is that, while they look really similar, there’s actually a huge age gap between the two of them. Pressly is currently 44 years old, while Australian actress Robbie is 31 years old. Did Pressly find the Fountain of Youth?

Amy Adams and Jenna Fischer

This was actually played up on The Office. Before Jim and Pam finally got together, Amy Adams arrived on the scene as Katy. Jim already has a thing for Pam, but unfortunately for him, Pam’s stuck in a relationship with Roy Anderson.

It’s clear that Katy (Adams) looks a lot like Pam. Does Jim have a type, or was he just trying to fill a Pam-shaped hole in his heart? Either way, he breaks up with Katy and confesses to Michael that he’s crushing hard on Pam, setting them in motion towards a relationship.

Amy Adams and Isla Fisher

Funny enough, Amy Adams has another Hollywood twin. Apparently, she gets confused with Isla Fisher a lot, too. In fact, they look so much alike that Fisher apparently used Adams’ photo on her family Christmas card once, instead of her own picture.

“No one noticed!” Fisher revealed to Daily Mail, saying recipients complimented her on how cute the card was. “I was like, ‘It was a joke, it’s not me, it’s Amy!’”

Zach Braff and Dax Shepard

If you think that Scrubs star Zach Braff looks a little bit like Parenthood star Dax Shepard, you are definitely not seeing things. These two are eerily similar in the face. If they had the same hair, you might not be able to tell them apart.

If you have any doubts on just how similar their faces really are, Dax’s wife, Kristen Bell, once did a face swap with them. The results are scary!
