Live action Harry Potter TV series coming to HBO Max
A new “Harry Potter” TV series is in very early development at HBO Max, according to sources who spoke to Variety. Details are very slim at this point and a statement given to Variety from Warner Bros. and HBO Max denies the rumors.
“There are no Harry Potter series and development at the studio or on the streaming platform,” HBO Max and Warner Bros. told Variety in a statement.
However, despite the denial, Variety says multiple sources have confirmed the project is in the very early stages.

The Harry Potter book series is one of the most popular of all time. It consists of seven fantasy novels written by British author, J. K. Rowling and have sold in excess of 500 million copies worldwide and over 180 million copies in the US, according to Scholastic.
