Rihanna Just Made Being A Billionaire Cool Again

Rihanna has officially hit billionaire status! This makes her the wealthiest female musician alive and the second wealthiest entertainer, only surpassed by Oprah, Queen of All Media.

While Rihanna’s music made her famous, her singing career has little to do with her billionaire status. In fact, Rihanna has been so busy work work work work working with her various brands, she hasn’t dropped an album since Anti in 2016.

Here’s the real route Ri Ri took to secure her billionaire crown.

How Rihanna Became a Self-Made Business Woman

Never shy about making money, having money, and getting what’s rightfully owed to her, it was only a matter of time before Rihanna secured 10 figures.

When she launched Fenty in 2017, the popstar entrepreneur had one big goal in mind. Per Forbes, Rihanna set her sights on creating a cosmetics company that made “women everywhere (feel) included.” Of course, it helped that she was a major household name in music. Ironically (and perhaps strategically), her all-inclusive brand is the main business venture that’s secured her untouchable billionaire status as of today–not her record sales.

When you combine the powerful popstar’s earnings from Fenty Beauty, Savage x Fenty, and her music career, it comes to almost 2 billion. According to Forbes, Bad Girl Ri Ri’s net worth sits pretty at an estimated $1.7 billion as we speak.

There was never a doubt in any of our minds that Rihanna had it like that. Remember when she hit a man in the face with 10k and kept walking? The only real questions pertaining to her billionaire status seem obvious: what will the party-loving pop diva do to celebrate? And what will she do with all that money?

So Will Rihanna Go to Space Now, Too?

While the 33-year-old mega mogul can do whatever she wants with her hard-earned Fenty fortune, she probably will do so on Earth. Unlike certain billionaires to come before her, Rihanna probably won’t be blasting off on a rocketship to prove her wealth or her worth. New York Magazine has already dubbed her “the only acceptable billionaire,” partially for this reason.

In case you somehow missed it, some of the world’s richest men have been looking to do “something new” with their fortunes (and no, I don’t mean paying their taxes.) Suddenly, billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson are racing each other to space and declaring it their lifelong dream.

There’s nothing more exclusive than space travel, am I right? But I trust Rihanna to stay grounded.

In the meantime, we’re all waiting with bated breath to see what the Grammy-winning artist does next, for business or pleasure. As noted by Billboard, her new year’s resolution was to make more music and fans have held her to it. As of this summer, those promised new tracks are reportedly almost ready for release.

My greatest hope? The next time she tells producers of an award show she would like to throw fat stacks to the audience, they don’t stop her. I feel like she’s totally earned that right, officially.
