The 2021 American Music Awards nominations are here!
All the nominees were announced on Good Morning America on Thursday, October 28, with big names like Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd racking up multiple nominations.
In order to determine who gets nominated, the American Music Awards nomination committee looks at streaming numbers, as well as album and song sales, from September 25, 2020 to September 23, 2021.
This is why an artist like Adele is not nominated, because her first single off of 30 wasn’t released until October 2021.
