Katy Perry is back and she’s looking better than ever.

The pop star, who gave birth to her first child, daughter Daisy, with fiancé Orlando Bloom back in August, made an appearance at the CMT Music Awards on Wednesday, October 21.

Read on to learn why she was there, what other megastar showed her face, and who ended up taking home some of the night’s big awards.

She’s a Cool Mom

Though she’s been spending the last couple of months in private with her new baby, Perry made this public appearance to introduce her fellow American Idol judge, Luke Bryan, prior to his performance.

“When CMT asked me about introducing my favorite American Idol co-star, I said, ‘Sure, I’ll do anything for Lionel Richie,'” she joked.

“And then they had to clear up some confusion. But hey, hey, hey, I know you guys are really excited to see the one and only my friend, performing his smash hit, ‘What She Wants tonight,’ from Sycamore Farms, Luke Bryan.”

Taylor Swift Also Popped In

Perry wasn’t the only pop star to show her face during the award show, Taylor Swift did too!

The 30-year-old, who of course got her start in country music, sent in a virtual video of herself presenting the award for Breakthrough Video of the Year.

While presenting the nominees, Swift acknowledged she won this exact award 13 years ago for her song “Tim McGraw,” which was her first single.

Blanco Brown, Caylee Hammack, Gabby Barrett, Ingrid Andress, Riley Green, and Travis Denning were all nominated, but Barrett ended up winning the trophy for her song “I Hope.”

Though Swift has pivoted away from the country music world in recent years, she did make a return to the ACM Awards stage back in September when she performed her new song “betty.”
