After Britney’s harrowing phone call to the court recently, Britney apologized for previously not believing Paris’ own history. She compared her own conservatorship struggles with the abuse Hilton went through in boarding school. Spears lamented, “I’m sorry. I’m an outsider, and I’ll just be honest. I didn’t believe it.”

Critics Took Hilton’s Silence as Animosity

When Hilton didn’t immediately comment after Spears’ phone testimony was publicized, everyone assumed the worst. But then Hilton liked a Tweet about the ongoing trial; we can confirm Paris is 100% team Britney. “The media of course when they write things out, they like to change it up a little bit,” Hilton added. “I think it was just a misunderstanding on the media’s part.” Hilton states that the fourteen-year friendship the women share is still going strong.

As Britney continues her fight for her personal freedom, she’ll need all the support she can get.

Paris Hilton recently spoke to Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live.” During the show, she talked at length about her longtime friend Britney Spears. She also discussed how she feels about Britney’s high-profile legal battle over her conservatorship.

Paris and Britney are still great friends

It warms my early-2000s kid’s heart to hear that Paris Hilton and Britney Spears are still BFFs who love to hang out together. I also adore the way Paris stands up for Britney in the recent interview.

“I saw her this summer, we’ve had dinners. I saw her in Malibu. I just love her so much,” Paris said of her friend. “She is so sweet and so innocent and such a nice girl. We just talk about happy things. Music, fashion…fun things.”

Paris also said that she doesn’t like to bring up the conservatorship situation with Britney because she just wants to stay positive.

“I never like to bring up negative things and make people feel uncomfortable, so I’ve never talked about it with her,” she told Cohen.

However, when pressed about the subject, Paris was willing to admit how she feels about Britney’s legal battles.

‘She has no control of her life whatsoever”

“I feel like if you are an adult you should be able to live your life and not be controlled,” Paris stated. “I think that maybe stems from me being controlled so much, so I can understand how that would feel, and I can’t imagine right now if that was still happening to me. After just working your whole life and working so hard, she’s this icon. And I just feel like she has no control of her life whatsoever, and I just don’t think that’s fair.”

E! News did obtain court documents that reveal Britney’s lawyer, Samuel Ingham, stated that her conservatorship is voluntary. However, the court documents also state that Britney wants future court proceedings regarding this matter to be open to the public. Her father still requests that they be sealed.

“Britney strongly believes it is consistent not only with her personal best interests but also with good public policy generally that the decision to appoint a new conservator of her estate to be made in as open and transparent a manner as possible…The sealing motion is supposedly being brought by her father to ‘protect’ Britney’s interests, but she is adamantly opposed to it.”

We might be lucky enough to learn more about Paris and Britney’s friendship in Hilton’s upcoming documentary, “This Is Paris.” The film will premiere on September 14.
