We can all agree it’s been a rough year, right?! I started out my year determined to make major moves in my career, improve my overall health, and up my social game, but none of that seemed to happen thanks to COVID-19 (and my overall laziness).

However, I’m determined to start 2021 with a clean slate and fresh perspective. In order to get motivated and focused, I’ve started listening to podcasts that will encourage me to live my best life.

Sometimes we want our podcasts to make us laugh, sometimes we want them to give us a bit of a scare, but if you’re also in the mood for a little inspiration, these podcasts are for you.

Unlocking Us

Author Brené Brown started her podcast, Unlocking Us, in March 2020 and has interviewed a number of notable guests since then. Everyone from President-elect Joe Biden to best-selling author Glennon Doyle has appeared on the podcast to share struggles, triumphs, and how they work to be a better person.

If you’re looking to connect with the people in your life on a deeper level — or just become a more compassionate person — you need this podcast in your life.

The Michelle Obama Podcast

We all could use a little more Michelle Obama in our lives. In this intimate podcast, the former first lady unpacks her relationships with some very important people in her life.

From her mother, Marian Robinson, to yes, President Barack Obama, each episode is honest, vulnerable, and raw. While most of us will never know what it’s like to be the first lady, these conversations prove we all deal with the same emotions.

The School of Greatness

It’s easy to feel like everyone around you is successful, but the truth is we all struggle. Lewis Howes hosts The School of Greatness, in which he interviews influential people who have not had a cakewalk to success.

These incredible conversations will give you the motivation you may need to follow your dreams, while also helping you deal with your failures along the way.

Who doesn’t want to be happier? Host Gretchen Rubin, who is the author of The Happiness Project, gives listeners the motivation they may need to live happier lives. While many of us think happiness is something we either have or we don’t, the reality is we have to work hard to achieve it.

Good Life Project

Host Jonathan Fields brings on guests to talk about what it means to live with purpose. During this time when so many of us feel aimless, this is the perfect podcast to listen to. Over the course of the podcast, Fields has interviewed everyone from Matthew McConaughey to Eat Pray Love author Elizabeth Gilbert.

Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations

There is arguably no one more inspirational than Oprah. Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations is all about understanding life, how we fit in this world, dealing with trauma, overcoming grief, and living happy lives. If you’re wanting to feed your soul with a lot of goodness, this is the podcast for you!
