Even though the Disney Fairies have their own talents, some of which are associated with elements, I couldn’t help wondering what element they would be able to bend in the Avatar universe. After a bit of research into what traits typically show up in each element’s benders, I managed to narrow down a list. And while it was a bit difficult at first, I placed all of these Disney Fairies based on their personalities. Can you guess who the Avatar would be out of this bunch of characters?

Dewey: Water

While Dewey is one of the most studious of all of Pixie Hollow, and that could easily translate to being an airbending master, I think he’d be a waterbender. Waterbender personalities are typically described as being supportive; in Secret of the Wings, he supports Tinker Bell and Periwinkle in getting to know each other despite the rules.

I think Dewey would also be very knowledgeable about the spirit world like Iroh. Dewey would have been born into a city like Republic City. However, after living on his own as an adult for a few years, he would have moved to an Air Temple to learn more about the spirits from the Masters. Once he’d learned a lot, he would have moved to a secluded area near the Northern Water Tribe.

Fairy Gary: Earth

Earthbenders are hard workers who are self-controlled but adaptable. And while Fairy Gary might be a bit stubborn and stuck in his routines, we see that he can adapt quickly when proven wrong. He’s also pretty grounded in life, making him a strong earthbender.

Fairy Gary would have thrived either in Zaofu during Korra’s lifetime or Omashu during Aang’s lifetime. Regardless of when or where he lived, though, he’d have been one of the highest officials who ran the city efficiently and smoothly.

Fairy Mary: Earth

Fairy Gary and Fairy Mary are similar in many ways. And while Fairy Mary does have a shorter temper, it’s not sharp enough to move her into the Fire Nation. She’s a grounded individual who works hard to keep Pixie Hollow running smoothly.

While Fairy Gary would have run cities efficiently, I think Fairy Mary would be an inventor. She’d have run a whole company like Asami Sato, creating new inventions almost yearly. Fairy Mary would also be a metalbender.

Queen Clarion: Water

Queen Clarion; Water Tribe symbol

Waterbenders are considered well-organized, loyal, and sensitive. And while we barely know Queen Clarion, it’s obvious she can run Pixie Hollow smoothly even when the entire place is freezing. You can also tell how loyal she is to the fairies because she made a rule about crossing the border to keep others safe, even if it meant she couldn’t be with the one she loves.

Queen Clarion would be a quick learner when it comes to mastering waterbending. She’d become one of the youngest masters of the element in the Southern Water Tribe, quickly learning to heal as well. Clarion would also follow along with her Disney Fairies storyline and be one of the first female chiefs of the Southern Tribe.

Nyx: Earth

Nyx lives her life by the rule book and can adapt to any dangerous situation as need be. However, she is exceptionally stubborn – it took a whole movie for her to realize she was wrong about the Never Beast. Nyx has also proved to be very steadfast, something earthbenders are known as.

Nyx would have been born in Zaofu but would eventually move to Republic City as an adult. Being born in the metal city, she would have grown up metalbending. After her move, she’d become a police officer. In her free time, she’d work on bettering her uniform with more metal armoring.

Periwinkle: Air

When it comes to Periwinkle and Tinker Bell (who I’ll get to later), they may be twins, but they don’t bend the same element. Periwinkle is much more light-hearted and optimistic, something we see in many airbenders.

Periwinkle’s life as an Air Nomad would have been her dream come true. After mastering the element in her twenties, she would have taken on a life traveling the world and never settling. However, she’d always make a stop to visit her friends wherever they lived; her favorite place would be the Western Air Temple.

Bobble: Earth

Bobble takes after Fairy Mary in many ways. While he has the typical traits of earthbenders – steadfast, self-controlled, and hard-working – he’s also easy-going and adaptable. And he needs to be, as an inventor and earthbender.

In the Avatar universe, Bobble would have loved Omashu or Ba Sing Se. However, I think he would have called Zaofu home. He would have enjoyed spending his days creating new things with his metalbending talents.

Clank: Earth

For many of the same reasons as Bobble, Clank is an earthbender. The only difference between the two was I almost marked Clank as an airbender because he can be a bit naïve. However, I think I might have mistaken his naivety for being extremely laidback.

Of course, Clank would be living it up in Zaofu with his best friend Bobble. However, his journey there wouldn’t have started in the metal city. Clank would have been born in a small Earth Kingdom town; however, he would have moved to Zaofu after discovering he could metalbend.

Terence: Earth

Terence was basically raised by Fairy Gary, so it makes sense he would take some traits from his mentor. We only see Terence pessimistic once in the entire franchise, and that was only because of a fight with Tinker Bell. Other than that short period, he’s the prime example of an earthbender.

Terence would spend most of his life following Tinker Bell around. However, there would be a period of time where he’d live on his own, mastering lavabending in the middle of the Earth Kingdom. In the end, he would settle into a home with Tinker Bell, Iridessa, Rosetta, and Vidia.

Vidia: Fire

Vidia; Fire Nation symbol

Vidia may be a fast-flying fairy, but she is no airbender. She is hot-headed, independent, competitive, and resourceful. When we first meet Vidia in Tinker Bell, she is arrogant, manipulative, and calculating; she’s a lot like Azula, but at least Vidia was able to redeem herself in later movies.

Even though I compared her to Azula, I think Vidia would have done better than her if she lived in Republic City, surrounded by cultures from around the world. She would definitely become a Pro Bender because it helps her get stress out; she’d also be able to bend lightning. And she’d be the last to join the Republic City friends’ home.

Rosetta: Non-Bender from Water Tribe

Rosetta; Water Tribe symbol

All Rosetta stans needn’t worry; she won’t be getting her shoes dirty like in The Great Fairy Rescue. Rosetta wouldn’t be a bender, but she would live in the Northern Water Tribe. She seems to enjoy the stereotypical housewife lifestyle, so I think she’d fit well in the Northern Tribe during Aang’s era.

I can’t imagine a life in the Avatar universe for Rosetta than in Republic City running a clothing shop. Rosetta would design her own clothing lines inspired by all the elements, but her specialty is her water-inspired accessories. Rosetta would be the one decorating the Republic City home, too.

Silvermist: Air

Silvermist; Air Nomad symbol

Silvermist is a bit airheaded, so it made sense that she would be an airbender. And though I’m going off a fan theory, I see a lot of Ty Lee in Silvermist. They’re both optimistic, charismatic, and spontaneous. Silvermist also has airbenders’ negative traits, specifically her naivete.

Unlike the other airbenders on this list, Silvermist really wants a place to call home. And though she’d travel the world often, she’d always have a home on the island outside of Republic City. She would have mastered airbending quickly but wouldn’t use it often.

Iridessa: Water

Iridessa; Water Tribe symbol

Iridessa’s personality fits perfectly with the average waterbender’s. At her best, she’s supportive, calm, and reliable. Even when she goes against her better judgment, she’s there for her friends, making sure nothing goes crazy.

Iridessa would have specialized in healing from a young age. She would have grown up in the Northern Water Tribe before leaving to work as a healer in the Earth Kingdom. After meeting Fawn and Zarina by chance, they would have convinced her to visit Republic City; when she got there, it was love at first sight, and she never left except to visit her childhood home.

Fawn: Air

Fawn; Air Nomad symbol

As we see with Aang at the beginning of ATLA, he’s fun-loving, spontaneous, and optimistic. That’s precisely what Fawn is in every movie she’s in. Even at her worst, she’s still able to be optimistic to an extent. But she also has airbenders’ worst traits, including impulsivity and restlessness.

Fawn would have trouble mastering airbending, but she would have gotten there eventually. After, however, she’d use her bending to travel the world with an air bison. Periwinkle would have joined her for a while, but Fawn’s life would have been spent traveling the world with Zarina.

Tinker Bell: Fire

Tinker Bell; Fire Nation symbol

I really wanted to say Tinker Bell is a metalbender from the Earth Kingdom, but her personality just doesn’t fit. She’s too much of a hothead who is both creative and competitive. So, Tinker Bell would be a firebender.

Tinker Bell’s inventions would have led her and Periwinkle from a small town between a major Earth Kingdom city and an Air Temple straight to Zaofu. Shortly after working on innovations with the metalbenders there, Tink would have gone on to Republic City, working closely with Fairy Mary.

Zarina: Avatar from Fire Nation

Zarina; Fire Nation symbol

We barely get to see Zarina after her movie, but I think it’s obvious she would be the Avatar out of this cast of characters. She is able to perfect colored pixie dust and master each talent she tries. But her home would be the Fire Nation because she is creative and passionate about her experiments.

Though Zarina would have been born in a small town in the Fire Nation, she would always be tempted by those Air Nomad dreams of traveling the world. After she’d mastered all the elements, including spiritbending, she would have chased that dream with Fawn right by her side.
