It feels like I blinked and August was over! Anyone else?
It seems like it was just yesterday that I was living it up at pool parties and backyard cookouts. Now, all of a sudden, kids are heading back to school and everyone has started talking about pumpkin spice.
Okay, the summer might be coming to an end, but with September comes plenty of new content arriving on Netflix. We’re getting a slew of fairies, martial arts, Marilyn Monroe, and a couple of comedy specials. I’ve got the full list of everything coming to the streaming platform in the month of September, along with a couple of titles that might arrive – though we don’t have a solid date for them yet. More about those in a minute.
Tons of Netflix Originals Arriving in September
September must be Netflix’s month. There are a ton of Netflix Originals on this list.
Among the Netflix Originals is the adaptation of Blonde, starring Ana de Armas as a fictionalized version of Marilyn Monroe. The film is an adaptation of the 2000 biographical fiction novel of the same name, written by Joyce Carol Oates. Although it’s clearly based on the iconic classic Hollywood star, it’s not meant to be a traditional biopic. Expect it to be more of a “sensorial and emotional experience.” The film arrives on the streaming service on September 28th.
Netflix subscribers can also expect a second season of Fate: The Winx Saga. The teen drama follows Bloom as she adjusts to life in the Otherworld and works to master her dangerous magical powers. She’s among other teens possessing enchanting powers at a magical boarding school.
Fans will get a kick out of new Cobra Kai episodes this month. The Netflix series will be back for a fifth season, with Terry Silver determined to recruit a new group of students and expand the Cobra Kai empire. No word on if Carrie Underwood will be coming back to perform at more karate tournaments, but I wouldn’t count on it. Check it out on September 9th.
If you have ever dreamed of what it might be like to unplug from the internet altogether, Netflix’s Off the Hook follows two roommates who do just that. After realizing they have a toxic relationship with the internet, they abandon all devices for a month. It’s not lost on me that I need the internet to watch it.
Queen Latifah stars in the Netflix Original film End of the Road, a crime thriller in which she plays a widowed mom driving her family cross-country to start a new life. But they are alone and cut off from help at a motel in the New Mexico desert when a mysterious murder and a bag of money throw them into serious danger. Ludacris also stars in the film. This is actually Latifah’s fourth Netflix Original project.
To make things easier, I’ve marked these, and all of the other Netflix Originals on the full list!
When Is Morbius Heading to Netflix?
There’s one release that’s up in the air. 2022’s Morbius could possibly appear on the streaming service sometime this month, but I can’t tell you when that will be. Although this film is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, it’s not heading to Disney+ to join the rest of Marvel’s content – at least not at first.
This Marvel superhero movie was distributed by Sony Pictures and is the third film set in Sony’s Spider-Man universe. But Sony, which previously had a deal with Starz, inked new deals with both Netflix and Disney. Sony’s theatrically released films will head to Netflix for their first-pay windows, which usually come 18 months after a film hits theaters. Once that expires, the films will head to Disney-owned streaming services Disney+ and Hulu.
Aside from Morbius, you can expect the rest of Sony’s theatrical releases through 2026 to do the same. If your spidey-senses are tingling, that’s because this will also include 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the sequels to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Rob Zombie’s The Munsters Heading to Netflix, Too
Written and directed by Zombie, The Munsters stars Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa Munster. Original Munsters actor Butch Patrick, who played Eddie Munster in the TV series, returns for Zombie’s movie to play another character. Cassandra Peterson–better known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark–will have a role in the movie as well.
Similar to the situation with Morbius, we know that Rob Zombie’s remake of The Munsters is supposed to head to Netflix… we just don’t know when, exactly. The movie is slated to release on Digital, Blu-Ray, and DVD on September 27th, and it’s possible that it will premiere on Netflix that same date.
With all that said, we do have confirmation that a ton of content is arriving on Netflix in the month of September. Check out this massive list of titles that will be hitting the streaming service all month long. Like I said, there is plenty of content headed to a TV near you.
