The final trailer for the upcoming film The Midnight Sky has been released by Netflix. George Clooney is not only the star, but he also directed this post-apocalyptic sci-fi film.

The movie follows the story of Augustine (George Clooney), a lonely scientist with terminal cancer, who finds himself manning an observatory in the Arctic Circle.

When the planet is struck by a mysterious global catastrophe, Augustine desperately tries to stop Sully (Felicity Jones) and her fellow astronauts from returning back to Earth. Unbeknownst to them, the Earth has been evacuated.

It was because of the appearance of a silent girl that Augustine was prompted to contact someone in orbit, where he briefly reached the starship returning home from a mission. However, the signal is weak.

From that point, he and the girl find themselves trekking through a radioactive ice storm to a weather station that hopefully has a better connection.

The film is based on the acclaimed novel, “Good Morning, Midnight,” written by Lily Brooks-Dalton.

The Midnight Sky released on Netflix December 11, and is available to stream right now.
