The original Space Jam was hardly a classic, showing up on podcasts like, “How Did This Get Made?” and other lists of horrible 90’s movies. Athletes and movies don’t have a great track record either. Yet fans clearly disagreed.
Space Jam: A New Legacy came out until July 16, starring Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. While fans are upset that LeBron isn’t Michael Jordan, the movie still killed at the box office. It even beat out Marvel’s Black Widow.
James took to Twitter to boast about everyone who doubted the film’s success.

First Footage for Highly Anticipated ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ Released by HBO Max
HBO Max released a teaser on Twitter that just happens to show a brief, but exciting snippet of the upcoming hybrid live-action/animated Space Jam 2 film.
At around the 7-second mark is where both LeBron and the infamous Bugs Bunny make their first appearance. And if you thought this would be a sequel of the original Space Jam, you thought wrong.
“It’s not a sequel,” James clarified. “It’s called Space Jam: A New Legacy, it’s not called Space Jam 2. There will be a basketball game, I’ll say that. And there will be some people that are a little out of this world that we’re competing against.”

Watch it this week and see what you think. Did LeBron do better than Michael Jordan? Was the second go-round better or should they have just left the first movie alone for all of us 90’s kids out there?
