The official trailer for Lena Dunham’s new dramedy, Generation, has been released by HBO Max. The series will debut its first three episodes on March 11, with the following eight episodes premiering later on during the year.

New ‘Generation’ Series Explores Modern Sexuality

Generation was created by 19-year-old Zelda Barnz and her father, Daniel Barnz. It follows along with a group of high school students who explore modern sexuality while battling deeply entrenched beliefs about love, life and family in their small conservative community.

The trailer opens with one of the students, Chester, speaking with the school guidance counselor. “I’m a star water polo player with a 4.1 GPA. I’m like, a lot.”

It then follows with a series of clips showing students as they navigate their own personal battles, such as one character who is hiding his bisexuality from his parents, while another mentions her gay parents who are “thinking of bringing a third into their relationship.”

“I’m on this whole thing right now about the history of humankind,” says Chester near the end of the trailer. “Let’s learn about ourselves, and from now on, let’s just get it right.”
