After taking some much needed time away from the spotlight, Adele is back and better than ever.

The singer, who is hosting Saturday Night Live this Saturday, October 24 with musical guest H.E.R., looked fabulous in the promo for this week’s episode, which was released Thursday, October 22.

Adele is Back!

Joined in Studio 8H by cast member Kate McKinnon and H.E.R, Adele joked around and showed off her American accent.

“Hi! I’m Adele, and I’m hosting Saturday Night Live this week with musical guest H.E.R.,” she says.

“Wait, her or her?” McKinnon asks, pointing first at H.E.R. and then Adele.

“No, H.E.R.” Adele says, pointing to the 23-year-old. H.E.R then responds with, “Oh, wait, her?” and points to McKinnon.

“Yes, me, it is I who will be musical guest this week,” McKinnon says as she moved towards the camera.

In another promo, McKinnon starts to speak in a British accent before she stops herself, “I’m sorry, bad idea.”

Adele then comes in with a perfect Valley girl impression and says, “Oh my God, don’t worry girlfriend.”

Adele, H.E.R., and McKinnon all donned face masks for the promo, as to be expected in this time of COVID-19.

Big Return

The “Hello” singer announced she’d be making her SNL hosting debut on Sunday, October 18 on Instagram, which came as a shock to fans.

“Bloooooody hellllll I’m so excited about this!! And also absolutely terrified! My first ever hosting gig and for SNL of all things!!!! I’ve always wanted to do it as a stand alone moment, so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right,” she wrote.

“But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump head first into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it’s 2020 right?”

The mother of one also revealed that her first time on SNL as a musical guest came 12 years ago, during an election.

“It’ll be almost 12 years to the day that I first appeared on the show, during an election…which went on to break my career in America, so it feels full circle and I just couldn’t possibly say no!”

She continued, “I am besides myself that H.E.R will be the musical guest!! I love her SO much I can’t wait to melt into a flaming hot mess when she performs, then confuse myself while I laugh my arse off in between it all.”

Time Out of the Spotlight

Adele has spent the better part of the last three years or so completely out of the spotlight.

Following the end of her world tour for her previous album, 25, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer took some time off to focus on raising her son, 8-year-old Angelo.

She also got back into the studio to start work on her fourth album, but it’s unclear when new music will be released.

Fans thought they’d be getting the album in 2020, so maybe Adele will surprise us all following her SNL appearance and give us what we’ve been waiting for! One can only hope, right?
