After two successful seasons of American Crime Story, the FX series is giving fans a look into its third season, which will center on the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton.
On Monday, August 2, the American Crime Story Instagram page shared the first poster for the upcoming season, which is called Impeachment: American Crime Story and will premiere on September 7.

The poster shows Monica Lewinsky, who is being played by Beanie Feldstein, from the back in her infamous blue dress and beret. She’s also standing in front of the White House and looking up towards the flag.
“FX’s award-winning, critically acclaimed series is back with an all-new installment. Impeachment: American Crime Story premieres 9/7, only on FX. #ACSImpeachment,” the series captioned the photo.

Feldstein, who is best known for starring in films such as Booksmart and Lady Bird, shared the photo to her own page with the caption, “Every side has a story.”
What Will the Show Cover?
Like the two seasons that came before, American Crime Story: The People vs OJ Simpson and American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace, the series will dive deep into one of the biggest scandals in history.
Based on the book, A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President by Jeffrey Toobin, the anthology will follow Lewinsky as she goes from being a White House intern to a woman at the center of the nation’s biggest sex scandal.

“I am so, so honored to be portraying [Lewinsky]. And to be doing it with Ryan Murphy is out of my wildest dreams. He is sort of the king of television, and his work is so profound,” Feldstein told The Daily Beast back in 2019.
Sarah Paulson Is Playing a Very Controversial Character
Like every other Ryan Murphy show, Impeachment has an extremely stacked cast. Longtime collaborator Sarah Paulson — who also starred in The People vs OJ Simpson — is playing Linda Tripp, who worked with Lewinsky at the Pentagon.
Paulson even shared a photo of herself in costume back in November with the caption, “Linda. American Crime Story: Impeachment has begun principal photography.”

For those who weren’t around when the scandal took place in the mid-90s, Tripp was known as the “whistleblower,” as she recorded her conversations with the 22-year-old about her relations with Clinton.
“There’s no way for me to approach playing her as a way of thinking how to redeem her. I don’t know that it’s redeemable, some of what she did to her friend,” Paulson told The Hollywood Reporter about playing the controversial figure.
“But I’m not going to be looking for a way to make her likable — I don’t really like to do anything like that. I’m not worried if people like me as Linda Tripp. That’s not my job.”
Who Is Playing Former President Bill Clinton?
Along with Feldstein and Paulson, a number of other notable actors will be playing central characters to this story.

Annaleigh Ashford is playing Paula Jones, the former Arkansas state employee who sued Clinton for sexual harassment, Billy Eichner is playing Matt Drudge, the Drudge Report editor who broke the story, and Betty Gilpin is playing conservative pundit Ann Coulter.
As for who will play the former president and Hillary Clinton, Clive Owen will take on the role of the 42nd president and Edie Falco will play the former First Lady.
