November is shaping up to be, well, a little rough. With the U.S. already nine months into the pandemic and case numbers still rising, it’s long past time to sugar-coat things: we’re staying home.

That paired with impending cold weather — hey, I’m a summer kind of gal, here — I’d like to propose Netflix November.

It’s not yet Christmas, and we’re already past Halloween. And unfortunately, there’s not a ton of Thanksgiving-themed stuff out there to keep us occupied until December rushes in.

That’s where Netflix November comes in! It’s time to check out the streaming service’s most binge-worthy series. These feel-good shows will keep you hooked and help make your time at home more enjoyable. Even if you’ve seen these shows before (ahem, The Office), it’s always a good time to re-watch.

Dawson’s Creek

Bring on the nostalgia! This show is packed with big stars from the 2000s and now: James Van Der Beek (swoon!), Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams, Joshua Jackson, and Busy Phillipps, just to name a few.

Following wannabe filmmaker Dawson (Van Der Beek) and his best friend Joey (Holmes) starting in high school, this soapy drama deals with discovering love, sex, adolescence, and more in a small town — with a hefty dose of angst.

The subject matter was considered scandalous in the early 2000s, but by today’s standards might seem a little tame. In any case, it’s still so much fun to dive back into Dawson’s Creek, and there are six seasons to binge.

New Girl

If you’re in need of a show that will put you in a good mood with every episode, New Girl is your go-to. Following a rough breakup, the adorably awkward Jessica Day (Zooey Deschanel) moves in with three guys: intelligent underachiever Nick, obsessive Schmidt, and eccentric former athlete Winston.

This playful, upbeat comedy will keep you entertained and feeling good for a long time. There are seven full seasons of the gang’s shenanigans.

Schitt’s Creek

This heartfelt comedy made history by sweeping the comedy categories at the Emmys this year, so if you haven’t seen it, there’s no better time than now to dive in! The sixth and final season launches on Netflix this month.

The basic storyline goes like this: a wealthy couple, video store magnate Johnny and his soap opera star wife Moira, suddenly find themselves broke. The once-rich couple are forced out of their rich lives and into a middle-of-nowhere town with an unfortunate name and unusual characters. With their pampered lives behind them and their two spoiled children in tow, they try to rebuild their old lives but end up building new ones instead.

The Good Place

What happens after you die? The Good Place follows a group that thinks they’ve figured out the answer to that question, when they land in the Good Place. I won’t drop any spoilers, in case you haven’t seen the show yet — but not everything is what it seems, and there are plenty of twists and turns to keep the show engaging.

You’ll find four seasons of sharp and thoughtful humor, a wonderful cast, and some unexpected philosophical lessons. So, check into The Good Place for a while.

Community is FINALLY available on Netflix, and I couldn’t be happier. This beloved 2010s comedy follows a group of students at a community college, including a fast-talking lawyer (Joel McHale) who winds up at the school after it’s discovered that he faked his degree.

There are six hilarious seasons to binge, full of witty humor and smart gags. But if you ask me, the real stars are besties Troy and Abed, played by Donald Glover (swoon!) and Danny Pudi. Blanket fort, anyone?

Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls is one of my most favorite binge-worthy shows out there. The show makes you fall in love with the characters so much that returning to the series feels like returning home. Soak up the witty banter, quirky characters, charming hometown setting, genuine warmth, and lots of coffee as you follow the lives of mom Lorelai and very smart daughter Rory.

All seven seasons are ready to binge on Netflix. Plus, you’ll also find the Netflix Original follow-up, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. It brings us back to our beloved Gilmores a decade after the finale of the original series.

The Office

Okay, I know The Office is a binge-worthy no-brainer. But look — it deserves to be on this list. It’s one of the most loved feel-good shows on Netflix, and it’s got nine whole seasons to binge. Plus, it’s just as good the fifth time through as it was the first.

And I hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but rumor has it that this beloved comedy series will be leaving Netflix next year. Brush up on your jokes about office culture and coworkers before we all (hopefully) get back to regular life sooner than later.
