It’s that time again: we’re bringing an early look ahead at all the movies and TV shows that are set to hit Netflix throughout the next month.
Valentine’s day is nestled right there in the middle of February, so expect at least some of the new content to reflect that. There’s plenty of feel-good fare coming to the streaming service in honor of the holiday. Are you more of a rom-com person, or a messy reality show fan?
New Content Perfect for a Valentine’s ‘Netflix and Chill’
Your Place or Mine is a new romantic comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher. They portray Debbie and Peter, best friends and complete opposites. But when they swap homes for a week, they get a peek into each other’s lives and find that what they think they want might not be what they need. Your Place or Mine will premiere on February 10th, just in time for a Valentine’s watch with your beau.
K-drama fans will be excited to see season 1 of Love to Hate You hit the streaming service on February 10th. This romantic comedy drama, centers on an attorney who despises losing to men and an A-list actor who distrusts women. Love means nothing to them, until they’re forced to date each other.
Prefer something a little messier? Netflix’s newest dating show, Perfect Match, arrives right on Valentine’s Day, with new episodes weekly. Participants are attempting to keep their desired partner, while others are trying to break them up by sending them on dates with new singles. The contestants will be familiar if you’ve already watched other reality dating shows on Netflix. The entire cast for Perfect Match comes from previous shows like Love is Blind and Too Hot to Handle.
Speaking of Too Hot to Handle, the series is making its way to Germany. Singles on the hunt for a summer full of flings and fun will get tricked yet again into having to compete under a strict “no touching” rule. They’re forbidden from any kissing, sexual contact, and even self-gratification. Every time a rule is broken, the grand prize is reduced. The idea is that the contestants create genuine connections with each other. This one drops on February 28th.
It’s Not All About Romance
It’s not all lovey-dovey stuff, though. If rom-coms and dating shows aren’t for you, Netflix still has you covered. We’ll see plenty of other content arrive in February, too.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy will appear on Netflix this month. I know the trilogy has been out for a couple of decades at this point, but it’s still notable. This will actually be the first time the whole trilogy will be streaming on the same service at once. Previous to this, separate platforms owned the rights for each of the three movies. This means you can binge all 11.2 hours of this fantasy trilogy without any hassle. Stock up on popcorn now!
In We Have a Ghost, Kevin and his family become overnight social media sensations after finding Ernest the ghost is haunting their new home. But when Kevin and the ghostly Ernest go rogue to investigate the mystery of Ernest’s past, they wind up a target of a shadowy government agency. The ghost with a murky past is played by David Harbour. Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Jennifer Coolidge, Tig Notaro, and Anthony Mackie also star. The comedy will premiere on February 24th.
Fan favorite teen drama Outer Banks returns to Netflix on February 23rd with a third season. The Pogues have washed up on a desert island, and they’re planting a flag on the new beach – a new home that they have deemed Poguelandia. Of course, not all of it is paradise. They have been lucky so far, but will they survive this upcoming chapter and get the gold?
The dangerously charming and intensely obsessive Joe Goldberg is back for a fourth season of You. The psychological thriller sees him taking up residence across the pond in Blightly (aka England), laying low and teaching. This season has been split in two, with the first half arriving on Netflix February 9th. The second half of episodes will drop a month later, on March 9th.
The Full List of Everything Coming to Netflix
Of course, there’s way more content coming to the streaming service. From comedy specials to thrillers, kids’ shows and reality TV, there’s enough to keep anyone entertained all month long.
There are several Netflix Originals showing up for February. Many of them are brand-new movies and the first seasons of TV shows. However, there are some Netflix Originals returning, like the previously mentioned series You. Love is Blind: After the Altar is back for round three, Ganglands season 2 is arriving, and so is part 3 of The Upshaws.
