Hulu has unsurprisingly ordered a fifth season for the popular drama The Handmaid’s Tale starring Elisabeth Moss that is based on a novel by Margaret Atwood bearing the same name.
Season 5 of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Renewed Before Season 4 Airs
What is surprising is that this renewal is coming in advance of season four, which only recently resumed production after shutting down thanks to the ongoing pandemic.
Season 4 will feature 10 episodes, which matches the first season, and it will return in 2021. A timeframe and episode order for Season 5 is yet to be determined.
“We’re very grateful to Hulu and MGM that the show will be returning for a fifth season, and especially to our loyal fans for their support,” said Bruce Miller, the showrunner of the series.
“We are thrilled to be able to continue to tell these stories, with our incredible cast and crew, and can’t wait to be back on the air with season four next year.”
