Season four of Legacies is winding down right now, but I recently got to thinking about what would happen if the characters went to Hogwarts instead of the Salvatore Boarding School. I rounded up most of the students, some antagonists, and a professor, and I’ll be sorting them into their Hogwarts houses. If you’re looking for Alaric Saltzman, you’re going to have to check out when I sorted The Vampire Diaries characters. Where do you think your favorite Legacies character was sorted? Also, here’s your only spoiler warning because I’ll be including characters from season four.

As a refresher: Ravenclaw is for the witty and wise, Hufflepuff is for the loyal and hard-working, Slytherin is for the ambitious and cunning, and Gryffindor is for brave and reckless.

Malivore: Slytherin

Malivore from Legacies; Slytherin Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

As much as I dislike Malivore because he was a wasted character, he wouldn’t let anyone get in the way of what he wanted. He was relentless, and I can only imagine a Slytherin being that stubborn – even more so than Gryffindors.

If Malivore went to Hogwarts (imagine he’s not made of mud for a minute), he’d do well in Transfiguration. He’d also do well in Potions but wouldn’t care too much for it. After school, he’d be a bounty hunter but would eventually turn to dark magic.

Alyssa Chang: Slytherin

Alyssa Chang from Legacies; Slytherin Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

If I have anything good to say about Alyssa Chang, it’s that she was an interesting character. She always played her cards close to her chest and rarely let anyone dissuade her from going after what she wanted. She even trapped the Saltzman family in a prison world to make her life easier.

Alyssa at Hogwarts would essentially be a female version of Draco. Her best subject would be Charms, and she’d be the Slytherin’s Keeper from her second through seventh years. After Hogwarts, she’d work in administration at the Ministry.

Penelope Park: Gryffindor

Penelope Park from Legacies; Gryffindor Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

Most people couldn’t stand Penelope Park and would probably think she’s a Slytherin. But from what I saw, she’s always been herself and didn’t hide anything. She was always upfront about her thoughts and actions, so that’s why Penelope would be sorted into Gryffindor.

If Penelope went to Hogwarts, she’d do well in Herbology and Study of Ancient Runes. She’d also be a Chaser for Gryffindor’s Quidditch team. Once she’d left Hogwarts, Penelope would pursue teaching; she’d end up a professor at Beauxbatons, but maybe she’d find her way back to Hogwarts eventually.

Jen: Ravenclaw

Jen from Legacies; Ravenclaw Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

Jen has been in a handful of episodes so far, but she’s already proven to be a Ravenclaw through and through. As the modern-day Vulcan (or Hephaestus if you’re more into Greek mythology), Jen has shown that she just wants to build things. Sounds like a Ravenclaw to me.

While at Hogwarts, Jen’s favorite class would be Potions because it’s the closest to building things she can get at school. Jen wouldn’t spend much time away from her inventions and schooling. She’d become an inventor after Hogwarts.

Ryan Clarke: Slytherin

Ryan Clarke from Legacies; Slytherin Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

From the moment we met Ryan, he’s gone after what he wanted, even if it meant transforming into a fake Professor Vardemus. And the same can still be said of his ambition to live a normal human life in season four.

Ryan would excel in Transfiguration and Charms. He’d also be a Chaser from his fourth to seventh years, and he’d manage to become a registered Animagus (a gray fox) during his last year. After Hogwarts, he’d become an Auror but would only be sent out on small missions.

Professor Vardemus: Ravenclaw

Professor Vardemus from Legacies; Ravenclaw Crest

Moving on from the fake Vardemus to the real professor, we’ve got a true Ravenclaw on our hands. Vardemus always got excited over what he was teaching and found joy in helping others learn. In the chess game episode, he even showed how wise he truly is.

Without a doubt, Vardemus would be the top student of his year, but his favorite class is History of Magic. While he isn’t a Quidditch player, he gets heated watching in the stands. He’d become a professor (obviously) and would probably take over as History of Magic professor.

Rafael: Hufflepuff

Rafael from Legacies; Hufflepuff Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

Rafael may have left too soon, but while he was at the Salvatore Boarding School, he was one of the most loyal characters around. He stuck by Landon and Hope every step of the way. Even when Hope visited him before she defeated Malivore, he talked with her about the hard stuff.

At Hogwarts, Rafael would excel in Defense Against the Dark Arts, Flying, and Transfiguration. Rafael would also be a Hufflepuff Beater starting in his second year, as well as Head Boy. After Hogwarts, he’d become an Auror because he felt it was the right thing to do.

Landon: Hufflepuff

Landon from Legacies; Hufflepuff Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

Much like his adoptive brother, Landon would be a Hufflepuff. He doesn’t have the ambitious side that Slytherins possess, nor is he the wisest character around. And while he is reckless at many points in the show, he only puts himself in the way of danger because he won’t let his loved ones fight without him.

Much like Rafael, Landon would be great at Flying and Transfiguration. He’d also be talked onto the Quidditch team his fifth year, becoming the Keeper. After Hogwarts, he’d try to become an Auror but would eventually be relegated to desk duty in the law enforcement department.

The Necromancer: Slytherin

The Necromancer-Ted from Legacies; Slytherin Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

The Necromancer, or Ted as I’ll be calling him, is a Slytherin, and you can’t convince me otherwise. When he first became the Necromancer, Ted just wanted to be the most powerful he could be. As the show goes on, nothing has been able to stop him from doing what he wants – not even Limbo.

Ted would excel in all of his classes, including the higher-level courses, but would often find himself in detention for dabbling in dark magic. After Hogwarts, he’d go on the run after mastering necromancy shortly after graduating. He’d end up in Azkaban after about five years.

Ben: Slytherin

Ben from Legacies; Slytherin Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

When we first met Ben, I had no doubt in my mind he’d be a Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. But the twist in “Everything That Is Lost May Also Be Found” changed my mind so quickly that I got whiplash. After that, he’s a Slytherin through and through. He’s willing to unleash vengeful gods on the world, and for what?

At Hogwarts, Ben’s best classes are Defense Against the Dark Arts and Flying. He would be the Seeker for the Slytherin Quidditch team and a Prefect in his sixth and seventh years. He’d eventually become an Auror for a few years before retiring to help his half-sister, Jen, with her inventions.

Jed: Gryffindor

Jed from Legacies; Gryffindor Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

Unlike Ben, Jed has stuck to his guns and never hid who he was. While he was a little bigheaded in the first season, he’s really come into his own as Alpha. Jed has so many of the stereotypical Gryffindor traits, but he’s managed to get the worst of them under control for the most part.

Jed would do well in all of his classes, but he’d keep that to himself for most of his time at Hogwarts. The only thing he lets people know is that he loves Care of Magical Creatures. Jed would also be the Seeker for the Gryffindor team. After Hogwarts, he’d become an Auror, quickly rising in the ranks.

Ethan: Gryffindor

Ethan from Legacies; Gryffindor Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

I don’t think there’s been a moment since Ethan walked onto the screen in season two that he didn’t scream, “Gryffindor!” He ran into danger so many times when he didn’t have to, even going up against Hope without her humanity. I’m scared to see where that recklessness takes him.

At Hogwarts, Ethan would excel in Flying and Charms. He’d be a Chaser for the Gryffindor team as well as Prefect his sixth and seventh years. After Hogwarts, he would be recruited onto the Pride of Portree, a professional Quidditch team. And yes, he and MG would be in a love triangle with Lizzie at Hogwarts, like in Legacies.

Cleo: Ravenclaw

Cleo from Legacies; Ravenclaw Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

Cleo has always been a Ravenclaw in my head. Though her Muse powers helped with the creative aspect of a Ravenclaw, she’s shown that she’s just as creative without her powers. She’s also witty and wise, which is key to fitting in perfectly with other Ravenclaws.

For no reason other than she’s a psychic witch in Legacies, Cleo would excel in Divination. She’s also good at Charms and Transfiguration. Cleo wouldn’t be on her house’s Quidditch team, but Cleo would be cheering on Kaleb every game. After Hogwarts, she’d be a Healer at St. Mungo’s.

MG: Hufflepuff

MG from Legacies; Hufflepuff Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

You can’t look at MG’s face and tell me he isn’t radiating Hufflepuff energy. He is one of the hardest-working characters in the series, from fighting against his bloodlust to battling gods for his friends. He even stays loyal to Lizzie when she seemingly joined the wrong side this season.

I mentioned earlier that he and Ethan would be competing for Lizzie’s affection, but they’re also competing on the Quidditch pitch. MG would be Chaser for the Hufflepuff team, excel in Charms, and Prefect his sixth and seventh years. After Hogwarts, he’d also be recruited to the Pride of Portree with Ethan.

Kaleb: Gryffindor

Kaleb from Legacies; Gryffindor Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

Kaleb has been killing it since season one – though he did have a rough patch with drinking human blood against the rules. After getting through some hard times, he pulled through and is now willing to stand up to Hope without her humanity and gods for his friends.

At Hogwarts, Kaleb would excel in Astronomy, Flying, and Care of Magical Creatures. He’d be a Beater for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, always making sure Bludgers never get close to Cleo in the stands. With that beautiful voice of his, he’d take off as a singer in both the wizarding and Muggle worlds.

Josie Saltzman: Hufflepuff

Josie Saltzman from Legacies; Hufflepuff Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

I went back and forth between Hufflepuff and Slytherin but ultimately decided “Dark Josie” is the Slytherin part that she doesn’t embrace. Therefore, regular Josie is a Hufflepuff queen. Even when she was angry at Lizzie, she still stood by her side – even if she got hurt in the process.

Josie would be the top student of her year in all of her classes. While she wouldn’t be on the Quidditch team, she’s always cheering them on from the stands. Josie would also be a Prefect in her sixth and seventh years. After Hogwarts, she’d be a Healer like her biological mother, Jo, at St. Mungo’s.

Lizzie Saltzman: Gryffindor

Lizzie Saltzman from Legacies; Gryffindor Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

Unlike her sister, it was easy to sort Lizzie into a house. She’s always been upfront in her plans. As she proved by trying to trick Jen, she’s not sneaky enough to be a Slytherin, but she is reckless and brave enough to be a Gryffindor.

At Hogwarts, Lizzie’s best subjects are Transfiguration and Charms, but she has a soft spot for Care of Magical Creatures. She’d be a Chaser for her house’s team from her third to sixth years. Her seventh year is spent studying hard. After Hogwarts, she’d follow Caroline’s footsteps and work for the Daily Prophet.

Hope Mikaelson: Hufflepuff

Hope Mikaelson from Legacies; Hufflepuff Crest
Warner Bros. | Pottermore | The CW | CBS | Alloy Entertainment | My So-Called Company

I know – Hope Mikaelson is brave, so she must be a Gryffindor. But have you seen her with and without her humanity? She was always putting others first. Even without her morals, she only killed when she needed to prove a point. Hope even warned the others to “take her out” because she was going to get them all killed.

Hope would be one of the best Defense Against the Dark Arts students Hogwarts has ever seen. She’d also do well in all other classes and would be Hufflepuff’s Seeker for her third through seventh years. She’d become a Cursebreaker after Hogwarts because fighting bad guys in school is enough for her.
